New York Rangers acquire Jack Roslovic from Columbus Blue Jackets for conditional draft pick
? Jerome Miron

The New York Rangers have acquired forward Jack Roslovic from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2026. The pick becomes a third-rounder if the Rangers reach the Stanley Cup finals this year. Roslovic is in the final year of a two-year contract that pays him $4 million annually. There is no salary retention in this trade.

Roslovic has been having a solid season in Columbus with six goals and 23 points in 40 games. With Roslovic, you know what you’re getting. He puts up 45 points a season like clockwork and can fill in as a center if needed but primarily plays on the wing. He used to be a full-time center for the Blue Jackets but struggled in the faceoff circle so they moved him to the wing. He has a career 43.2% in faceoffs.

Roslovic is a versatile player who will bring some additional depth to the Rangers’ lineup. He can fill in for Filip Chytil who is out for the year with an injury, or at the very least Roslovic can be a valuable and rare right-handed winger on their roster. The Rangers will likely find a place for him on the third line but he can be moved up to the top-six in a pinch.

Roslovic has played over 16 minutes of average ice time this season which could see a dip in New York. But he may well end up playing with better linemates so we could see an uptick in his stats. As a former first-round pick, Roslovic has the potential to have a very successful tenure in New York. If he does well, it’s likely that they’d re-sign him in the offseason to a multi-year deal.

Over his career, Roslovic has scored 77 goals and 213 points in 426 games played between the Blue Jackets and the Winnipeg Jets.
