The New York Rangers organization is set to make a significant roster transaction due to the fact that a star defenseman will be returning to lineup amidst his ongoing injury.

The New York Rangers have finally hit the ice today for the first time since before the holiday break when they faced the New Jersey Devils and took an embarrassing 5-0 loss.

However, good news has came out of Friday's practice as Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller has returned to practice with the team after suffering an upper-body injury back on Dec. 11, and then placed in IR.

So with that being said, as reported by Rangers insider Larry Brooks, if Miller returns to the lineup then the New York Rangers will be forced to make a roster transaction and reassign veteran defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The 24-year-old defensman has played in 28 games this season for the Rangers, and has managed to tally two goals and four assists for a total of six points.
