New York Rangers staff member gets fired over very controversial reason

Troubling reports have surfaced revealing the New York Rangers have fired one of their own staff members after having dinner with a player.

The New York Rangers' slumps just seems to keep getting worse despite how they try to change things. First the Rangers started by trading their captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks.

Then just about a couple weeks later, they trade their former-second overall draft pick Kaapo Kakko to the Seattle Kraken for William Borgen and two draft picks in the 2025 NHL Draft.

As the Rangers currently sit at sixth in the Metropolitan Division, fans and others alike figured things couldn't possibly get much worse than this. Unfortunately it has.

According to a story from Vince Z. Mercogliano from Lohud.com, the Rangers told their players and staff that they fired an employee by the name of Jim Ramsay, due to him having dinner with a player after a team media event.

Here's what Journalist Vincent Z. Mercogliano stated the happened:

Staffers were told that 'absent written approval from an Executive Vice President ('EVP') or above,' they were prohibited from staying at the same hotel as any of the teams under the MSG umbrella, including the minor-league Hartford Wolf Pack and Westchester Knicks, traveling on team flights or buses, or attending team social gatherings or meals, according to the memo.'

The internal memo read: 'Interactions between employees and players or coaches must be strictly limited except as necessary to satisfy the requirements of an employee's role,' it read. 'Failure to comply with the directives set forth in this memorandum may result in disciplinary action, including, without limitation, termination of employment.'

Definitely not a good look for a crumbling organization. A simple dinner between a player and employee would typically improve the team's overall morale, but according to Chris Drury, that is unacceptable.
