NHL Announces Big Update to Hurricanes-Capitals Playoff Series

The Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals are getting ready to square off in the second-round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Both sides will enter this series with something to prove, giving viewers a massive amount of excitement across the board.

The NHL has announced the entire schedule for this series, updating dates and respective times. Game 1 between these two sides will begin on Tuesday, May 6, at 7 p.m. ET.

Game 2 will take place on Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. ET.

Game 3 will be played on Saturday, May 10, at 6 p.m. ET.

Game 4 will be Monday, May 12, at 7 p.m. ET.

Game 5 will be Thursday, May 15, TBD.

Game 6 will take place on Saturday, May 17, TBD.

And finally, Game 7 will be Monday, May 19, TBD.

The Capitals enter as the team with home-ice advantage, offering them a potential edge in the series. Washington still has legend Alexander Ovechkin playing at a very high level, something that the Hurricanes will need to pay attention to.

As for the Hurricanes, they come in looking to change the narrative on themselves in the postseason. Carolina has found a lot of success during the regular season in recent years, but they have fallen short come playoff time.

If they can take down the Capitals, it could change the entire outlook for this franchise. Both sides have what it takes to win a Stanley Cup, but only one can move on to the Eastern Conference Finals.
