NHL bets: Following the expected fun in Colorado-Dallas

The Western Conference second round begins tonight with the Colorado Avalanche visiting the Dallas Stars in what should be an electrifying series between two of the NHL's best. It's for that reason I want to highlight this game alone, I think, in Game 1 especially, we could see some fireworks on both ends.

Two Tyler Seguin looks

I'm expecting a very fun series here between Dallas and Colorado, and yes, my definition of fun includes goals and shots. I think we can expect a loose Game 1 here that sees the offenses shine, and I need a piece.

Tyler Seguin quickly catches the eye at some tremendous prices. He now has gone over his 2.5 SOG line in five straight games and six of seven to start his postseason. He's maintained a solid level of shot attempt volume and just continues to log high-quality looks

He's enjoyed some monster games against Colorado this year. In three meetings, he's hit his shots line every time, piling up 11 SOGs on 18 attempts. Not only have those shots been reaching the goalie against the Avs, they've been flying through 'em.

Seguin has casually scored two goals in all three games against Colorado this season. Oh?

Yeah, that's six goals in three games. It is taking all of my self control to not bet his goal, but I am forcing myself to play it safe and bet him to log a point instead. He has three assists in his past five games, but boy oh boy is he due to find the back of the net himself.

Betting 1u: over 2.5 SOG (+135 DraftKings)

Betting 1u: over 0.5 points (+105 ESPN)

1u: Miles Wood over 1.5 SOG & Cale Makar point (+123 ESPN)

I like the Avalanche side to generate some offense in their own right, and these two popped up as a nice prop pairing.

Wood was absolutely ripping the puck in the first round, going over this line in all five games, averaging 3.0 SOG per game on nearly five attempts per game. Wood now has 2+ shots in nine of his last 10 games on the road, averaging 2.9 shots in that stretch.

He's enjoyed some nice games against the Stars this season, finishing with three SOG and five attempts in all three contests.

Pairing with Makar point makes this Wood line more playable. The star Avs defenseman piled up nine points in five games last round and now has 16 in his last 10, 14 in his past 10 postseason games and 10 in his last six playoff road games.

Makar had a point in all four matchups with the Stars this season (six total), and now has 11 points in his past 11 against them.
