NHL bets: Two point prop plays for Saturday 4/6 on the ice

We went 2-0 yesterday on our two NHL looks, so we opt to keep it simple and stick with just two looks on the ice. Here's to some Saturday winners!

Nikita Kucherov assist & Sidney Crosby point (+129 ESPN BET)

Lightning vs. Penguins, 1 p.m. ET, ABC

We're jumping on the early game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Pittsburgh Penguins, two teams playing extremely well right now. The Penguins are fighting for a playoff spot and the Lightning are looking to carry this momentum straight into the first round, so I for one expect a spirited effort on both ends.

As such, it seems only right if we simply turn to the two best players on each side to get involved in some scoring.

Nikita Kucherov has eight assists in his last four games, 20 assists in his last 10 on the road and seven assists in his past five meetings with Pittsburgh.

Sidney Crosby has 15 points in his last seven games, nine in his last five at home and 17 points in his last 12 against the Lightning.

MacKenzie Weegar point (+105 ESPN BET)

Oilers vs. Flames, 10 p.m. ET, ESPN+

We jump now to the late game and load up Calgary's MacKenzie Weegar to keep it rolling. Edmonton just played last night and may be a bit tired, which opens the door to some Flames goals.

Calgary is averaging 3.1 goals per game at home over the last 45 days while the Oilers are allowing 3.1 per game on the road in that stretch.

The kicker that makes the Flames look good tonight comes on the power play. Edmonton is killing penalties at just a 73.1% rate on the road over the last month, a bottom-half of the league mark. Meanwhile, Calgary's power play has been rolling, scoring a PP goal in four straight games and owning the eighth-best PP scoring rate at home across the last 30 days.

I do like Weegar's power-play point at +360; he has one in four straight. However, I think the safer path is to simply take his point at plus-money. He has a point in five straight games (eight total), and three points in three games against Edmonton this season.
