NHL confirms zero coronavirus cases in playoff bubbles

Ahead of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars, the NHL confirmed that zero individuals tested positive for the coronavirus inside the bubble sites of Toronto and Edmonton during the league restart that began with July scrimmages. 

The NHL placed 12 Eastern Conference clubs inside the isolated hub in Toronto, while 12 Western Conference teams traveled to the Edmonton bubble. Edmonton's Rogers Place hosted the Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final. 

The NHL administered 773 coronavirus tests of players and other necessary personnel from Sept. 20-26. The league will announce the results of the last testing round after the Final, which will conclude on Monday if Tampa Bay wins or with Wednesday's Game 7. 

MLB is sending clubs to bubble sites for the playoffs after the opening round of postseason play to prevent possible COVID-19 exposure among players and staff.
