NHL games to target Monday for goals, points prop bets

It's a fresh week in the NHL, and after winning one parlay last week, it sure would be nice to hit another.

We've been close and learning as we go, so let's take what we learned and apply it to tonight. There are three games in particular I have circled that offer good value to bet points and goal props.

You don't need to roll with the same guys I do, but the skaters featured are here because of recent production in their locations tonight.

We'll do a points parlay of these three, which can be found on DraftKings at +335. Betting goals straight is the responsible decision, but if you want to parlay them for a Monday lottery ticket, the odds are currently +2559 on FanDuel.

Let's get to the games.

Florida Panthers

For regular NHL bettors, you likely assumed you'd see Florida here, and you are correct. While the Panthers are a bit less explosive on the road, their opponent is as soft as it gets.

Columbus is allowing the most goals per game at home in its last 10 at 4.1. The Blue Jackets also see the most shots per game at home at 35.7.

This is a high-volume opponent, and there should be plenty to go around for Florida. Florida averages 3.3 goals scored per game in its last 10 road games, eighth-highest in the league.

Carter Verhaeghe

In a game like this, I like the idea of loading up a goal scorer bet at higher odds than the favorites. We should hopefully see at least four goals from Florida, so we add Verhaeghe to start the night off.

I like how Verhaeghe's road production compares to his teammates. He has a point in six of his last 10 on the road and has four goals in his last six.

When away from Florida, Verhaeghe also offers a solid floor of shot production, averaging 3.43 SOG in his past seven.

Point odds: -128 (FD) Goal odds: +225 (FD)

Anaheim Ducks

This game should see goals on both ends, but I want to focus on the Ducks. The reason is the surge of goals the Red Wings are seeing against them.

The 4.6 goals allowed in their past five home games are the most in the NHL, and in their last five overall, the Red Wings are seeing 5.2 goals scored against them.

Anaheim is finding the back of the net more in recent games, averaging 4.0 scored per game in its last five, the third-highest in the league.

If you do like Detroit in this, since the Wings score a decent amount too, I think either Tyler Bertuzzi and Dylan Larkin are your best bets.

Troy Terry

I like Terry's road splits, so the edge goes to him. Terry has a point in five of his last seven away games, with eight total in that span.

He's scored a goal in two straight and three of four, so we ride with the hot hand.

If you stretch out to see his overall view, Terry has been solid wherever he is, with five goals in his last eight.

Point odds: -140 (DK) Goal odds: +210 (FD)

Toronto Maple Leafs

We wrap the third leg on this Monday with a familiar face. Toronto has been rolling lately with the goals, averaging 4.2 in the past five home games, third-most in the NHL.

On the other end is another familiar target in New Jersey. While the Devils have been a bit tighter with goals in recent games, they're still letting them in, and their 3.8 goals per game in their past 10 road games is fourth-highest in the league.

John Tavares

We bet on John Tavares last week, and he delivered. He once again offers the best value on Toronto.

Tavares now has a point in eight straight home games and has scored a goal in five of his last seven.

That's steady production and involvement. There doesn't seem to be a reason to leave him alone.

Point odds: -230 (FD/DK) Goal odds: +164 (FD)

Closing Thoughts

As always, I'll recommend that if you agree with the logic above, the best strategy for long-term profits is to bet these goal-scorers on an individual basis.

If you're looking for a fun lottery ticket to follow on Monday, then load up this +2559 goal-scorer parlay on FanDuel, and let's make it happen.

A points parlay is also the safer option, which I will be doing as well. The best odds there are +335 on DraftKings.

Good luck tonight!
