What Connor McDavid is still lacking in terms of team success in the NHL, he makes up for with an unreal collection of individual accomplishments.
On Thursday, the three-time Hart Memorial Trophy Winner added to his ever-growing hockey resume by reaching the 100-point plateau in the 2025-26 NHL regular season.
It is not something new to McDavid, though, as he's done it for the sixth time in a row, becoming just the eighth player in the history of the league to pull off such an incredible streak, as noted by the NHL.
The other seven names in that extremely exclusive club are Wayne Gretzky, Mike Bossy, Bobby Orr, Peter Stastny, Steve Yzerman, Guy Lafleur and Mario Lemieux.
The 29-year-old McDavid entered the Kings game at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles needing only two more points to hit the 100-point mark this season. He moved closer to it with a goal in the second period before assisting on Leon Draisaitl's score just 31 seconds into the third frame. The Oilers then went on to finish the game with a crushing 8-1 victory.
After suffering four consecutive losses, including the heartbreaking 6-5 defeat at the hands of the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, McDavid and the Oilers took out all their frustrations on the Kings, who could barely do anything to stop the Edmonton scoring freight train.
McDavid and the Oilers improved to 29-23-8 following their lopsided win against LA, and they will look to keep it going on Saturday versus Macklin Celebrini and the dangerous San Jose Sharks at the SAP Center in San Jose.
