Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood has changed agents, sparking speculation that it could be his last year with the team or that a trade could come soon.

Thanks to the latest move from Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood, there is growing speculation that he could soon be changing teams.

Why Sherwood's Career Move Could Signal Trade Talks in Vancouver

Sherwood, who is coming into the last year of his current contract, recently changed agents and is now represented by Rich Evans and Judd Moldaver of Wasserman Hockey.

Will be interesting if things move along or if the year goes along.

Before this move, he was represented by Alain Roy at Roy Sports Group Hockey, LLC.

Canucks Face Tough Choice: Extend or Move On from Physical Winger

Sherwood is coming off a year in which he scored a career-best 19 goals in the NHL in 78 games, and if he can continue that kind of production, he'll command a healthy raise from his current AAV (average annual value) of $1.5 million.

But even more impressive for Sherwood was that he now holds the NHL record for most hits in a single year with an incredible 462, breaking the previous record of 383 set by Jeremy Lauzon.

The Canucks will soon be faced with a choice of either extending Sherwood or potentially trading him at the Trade Deadline (or earlier if they know he won't re-sign) in return for assets rather than lose him for nothing in the summer.
