Bruins reporter Rich Keefe has doubled down today, stating that Brad Marchand is lying about his relationship with David Pastrnak.
Last week, a Bruins reporter by the name Rich Keefe started a controversy claiming that Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak were feuding in the Bruins locker room.
It was a bombshell of a story as the Bruins have been under a lot of scrutiny this season due to their mixed results on the ice.
Unsurprisingly, Brad Marchand has already denied the claims, saying that nothing is going on between him and Pasta.
The Bruins captain was not very nice with his words for Rich either. He was clearly upset and annoyed that he had to even comment on this.
'It's unfortunate. I know reporters have a job to do. That job is to report on the team and, usually, you try to be fact-based. But when there's just blatant lies told in the media. That's where there's a problem. The fact that this guy has a platform, and he's just making stuff up, is embarrassing'
That being said, Keefe is not backing down. This morning, he doubled down on his comments about Marchand and Pastrnak, saying that it would make more sense for him to lie about the Patriots if he was going to do that.
'Ask yourself this question, in this scenario who is more likely to be lying? Me or him? With all due respect to the Bruins if I just wanted clicks and I just wanted attention wouldn't I make up Patriots stories? Or NFL Stories? Something along those lines.'
That being said, he didn't really divulge any specifics after that, and this seems like a fairly lame excuse to try and cover himself.
Both Marchand and Pastrnak have denied the rumor and there certainly hasn't been anything obvious going on like there has been with JT Miller and Elias Pettersson in Vancouver for example.
At this point, it does not sound like this is the end of this though, so be sure to keep an eye on the Bruins for more drama in the coming days.
