The Chicago Blackhawks are actively pursuing a Dylan Strome trade per multiple reports.

Strome, 24, was acquired from the Coyotes back in 2018. He had a promising first season in Chicago with 51 points in 58 games but his production has tapered down.

Now it sounds like he’s on the move.

NHL Rumors: Blackhawks ready to deal Dylan Strome

According to Pierre LeBrun on the latest Insider Trading on TSN, the Hawks have a surplus of centers and that makes Strome expendable.

“A name that’s retaining attention around the league is Dylan Strome,” LeBrun said. “There are some teams kicking tires on him and there’s a chance he moves in the next week or two.”

In his latest column for The Athletic, LeBrun believes the Senators are a great fit. “Ottawa would make sense to me given the Colin White injury,” he writes. “While I do think there might have been some preliminary dialogue between the Senators and Blackhawks during the preseason, I don’t think the Senators are going down that route. But a few other teams have shown some interest.”

Bruins working on a Charlie McAvoy extension

Bruins president Cam Neely told reporters today that they are optimistic in a new deal for defenseman, Charlie McAvoy. “Hopes are we see something here in short order,” he said.

Head coach Don Sweeney echoed the same sentiments. “We’d like to have Charlie signed,” he said. “We’d like to have Charlie as a member of the organization for quite some time.”

McAvoy, 23, scored 30 points in 51 games for Boston last season. For his career, the 1st round pick (14th overall) from the 2016 Draft has registered 122 points in 235 contests.

This is the final season of a deal that comes with an AAV of $4.9M. He will be an RFA with arbitration rights this summer.

Multiple teams interested in Rangers Kravtsov

Yesterday, the Rangers granted permission for the 21 year-old to seek a trade. The former 1st round pick (9th overall) in the 2018 Draft refused assignment to the AHL and will be suspended.

I learned through a trusted source that the return is likely to be a second rounder from a team with multiple second round picks. Currently 4 teams in the 2022 Draft qualify; Arizona, Ottawa, Detroit, and Calgary.

Elliotte Friedman is noting that multiple teams are interested in the disgruntled winger, who scored 4 points in 20 games last season.
