Could the Montreal Canadiens consider Elias Pettersson?

Taj: Rick Dhaliwal on the Halford & Brough Show: “Couple people told me they wouldn’t be surprised if Montreal is sniffing around Pettersson.”

Two teams that were interested in the Buffalo Sabres No. 4 pick

NHL Watcher: Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts: The Podcast on who is looking to move up in the draft: “I’ve heard Calgary and Winnipeg have been two of the teams that have talked about the 4th pick with Buffalo”

Jason Robertson wasn’t ready to make a quick decision on Seattle

Darren Dreger: “Jason Robertson remains one of this week’s top stories. Seattle went all in trying to land the star winger, but Robertson wasn’t prepared to make an 8 year decision as quickly as was required. At the time of this post, no other options have been presented. See how things unfold.”

Claude Giroux is likely going to free agency

Pierre LeBrun: Ottawa Senators pending UFA forward Claude Giroux is being patient and weighing his options. The door isn’t closed on returning to the Senators, but he’s likely headed to market.

Winnipeg Jets GM confirms he’s listening to calls on Connor Hellebuyck

Murat Ates: Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff wouldn’t answer directly if Connor Hellebuyck asked for a trade, but did say he’s listening.

“What I’ve been hearing hasn’t made me act. The best answer is, I’m still listening.”

Murat Ates: Update on Hellebuyck.

  • “My understanding is that BUF’s offer included the No. 4, a roster player, and a prospect but WPG was unwilling to include the No. 8. As much as I may think WPG/BUF should be able to find a fit, my ‘current’ expectation is that BUF keeps No. 4 and takes Malhotra if it can.
  • On Carolina, if the offer doesn’t increase from Frank Seravalli’s report of Alexander Nikishin and a late first-round pick, there’s no way it gets close. Multiple non-#NHLJets sources have told me Nikishin + first is too low.
  • On Florida, I can’t find a route without Anton Lundell being involved and at no point have I been under the impression that Lundell is involved. Almost wonder if Florida needs to take a swing at a different goalie and struggle a while before paying full price for Hellebuyck.”
