NHL Sunday bets: Goal-scorer parlay

We're on to day four of the Lotto Ticket challenge. I for one am encouraged by our circled spots on Saturday. Our long-shot scored, and the other three all recorded a point.

Now, it's time to bring it home and win us a goal-scorer parlay in the NHL for this Sunday.

We're back to three legs. At time of publish, the parlay odds are +2643 on FanDuel.

Blues' Brayden Schenn

Blues at Devils
1 p.m. ET

The Devils have been a popular target for goal-scoring for the last few weeks — and for good reason.

At home in their past five, New Jersey is allowing opponents to pour in 4.8 goals per game, the second-highest mark in the league. Jon Gillies is expected in net for the Devils, a significant downgrade. Even if it ends up being Nico Daws, the numbers still suggest the Blues should get their goals this afternoon.

The Blues are averaging the 10th-most goals per game on the road in their past 10 (3.6), and on an expected goals basis, they rank highly.

When looking at shot numbers, the data suggests St. Louis should be able to get plenty of pucks on net, which helps the goal-scoring chances.

We're rolling with Brayden Schenn in this one, who has a goal in nine of his last 16 games. He's currently on a three-game scoring draught, but has been better on the road, with a goal in six of his last eight road games (prior to these three games without a goal).

Schenn had two goals against New Jersey when these teams last met.

The metrics suggest Schenn has been incredibly efficient with his ice time, leading the Blues in goals per 60 minutes (2.14) in his past 10 games.

Given the opponent and his recent production, I like the odds Schenn brings to this parlay.

Best goal odds: +235 FD

Lightning's Steven Stamkos

Lightning at Blackhawks
7 p.m. ET

The Lightning should have no issues scoring against Chicago coming off a back-to-back. The Blackhawks have allowed 4.3 goals in their past 10 at home, and Tampa Bay has averaged 4.2 in its last 10 on the road.

Chicago also has a below-average penalty kill, which puts Steven Stamkos on the radar Sunday. The Lightning have a ton of great options, particularly on the road.

Stamkos has seven goals in his last eight road games, and we opt to keep that streak rolling in a prime matchup for Tampa Bay.

Best goal odds: +152 FD

Hurricanes' Teuvo Teravainen

Kraken at Hurricanes
7 p.m. ET

We're going back to Teravainen, who we had an earlier goal-scorer parlay to no avail.

Based on expected goals and expected goals against, Carolina is in the best spot of the day for positive scoring regression.

It always helps to play Seattle, which has let up four goals per game in its last five on the road.

Why I like Teravainen is Seattle's penalty kill, which ranks sixth-worst in the past 20 games. Teravainen gets a lot of work on the power play and should have a few opportunities there to net one.

Teravainen has a point in eight straight home games, a goal in three of five and averages five  shot attempts per game in his last 10.

He gives us the best odds on this loaded top Carolina line.

Best goal odds: +235 DK

That will do it for this Sunday. Again, these odds on FanDuel are +2643. Let's have ourselves a day, good luck!
