NHL Sunday bets: Props and parlays to close the weekend

We had a great Saturday here with our picks, and now it's all about continued momentum. It's another packed day in the NHL, with 11 games throughout this Sunday.

We've got shots on goal (SOG) looks and a few parlays, let's get to the spots.

Tony DeAngelo over 2.5 SOG (+125 DK)

Tony DeAngelo has been steady with his shots lately, hitting in nine of his last 12 games. The attempts have really been there, as the defensemen has piled up 16 of them in his past two games.

Carolina will see the Islanders Sunday afternoon, who are allowing 35.1 shots per game at home in their past 10 contests. The Islanders have been particularly vulnerable to defensemen, allowing the third-most shots per game to the position since March 1.

In two games against New York, DeAngelo has SOG totals of five and four. Confidently loading him up here at +125 to start our day.

Parlay: Dougie Hamilton over 2.5 SOG & Evgeny Kuznetsov point (+153 CZR)

Sticking with defensemen shot props, Dougie Hamilton is in a great spot to cover his line against a Detroit team getting pummeled by shots and allowing the second-most per game to defensemen.

Hamilton has gone for 3+ SOG in five straight games and eight of 10, but he's juiced so we pair him with an Evgeny Kuznetsov point.

I expect plenty of scoring in this Toronto-Washington game, and the over/under set at 7 would suggest books agree. Kuznetsov has a point in 10 of his past 11 at home.

Rickard Rakell over 2.5 SOG (+110 DK)

Rakell is rolling for Pittsburgh and we continue to get him at plus-money. It's time to jump on the train and see if he can keep this streak moving as he's covered his SOG in seven straight games.

His attempts have been solid, and he gets a good opponent in the Flyers, who allow 33.9 shots per game at home in the last 10 games.

For what it's worth, Philly is also allowing the second-most shots per game to RWs since March 1, and Rakell is the top-line right winger for the Penguins.

Pittsburgh is averaging the fourth-most shots per game on the road in the last 10 games, which gives me added confidence that there will be volume to go around.

Nathan MacKinnon over 4.5 SOG (+105 DK)

Love this price and situation for Nathan MacKinnon. Winnipeg has been a great shot target all year, currently seeing 35.7 shots against them at home in the past 10.

MacKinnon has loved skating opposite the Jets, with monstrous shot totals of eight, 14 and 11 in three games against them.

That's success I'm following. It helps that Winnipeg is averaging plenty of penalties lately, with MacKinnon leading the Avalanche in power play shots in his last 20 games (21 total).

The Jets also allow the ninth-most shots to centers since the beginning of March. Plenty to like. Nazem Kadri is a good look in this game too.

Jonathan Huberdeau over 2.5 SOG (-120 DK)

Jonathan Huberdeau is home, and we are officially on that train until further notice. He came through for us Saturday, extending his hit streak in Florida to four straight and 20 of his past 22.

It's remarkable consistency, and against a Tampa team allowing 33 shots per game on the road in their past 10, he should get his chances.

Huberdeau has gone over 2.5 SOG in two of three against the Lightning this season.

Brad Marchand over 3.5 SOG (+115 DK)

Love this price for Brad Marchand, who has hit his SOG in 12 of his past 16 road games. This is another situation of great factors converging.

Montreal gets pummeled to the tune of 36.1 shots allowed per game at home while Boston is averaging the most shots per game on the road in the last 10.

The Canadiens are averaging the fourth-most penalties per game in their last 10 and Marchand leads Boston in PP shots.

He's also gone over 3.5 SOG in all three games against Montreal this season. I think this is a great spot to go to Marchand, and similar to the Colorado side, you could look at someone like Patrice Bergeron too.

Parlay: Pierre-Luc Dubois over 2.5 SOG & Alex Ovechkin over 3.5 SOG (+213 FD)

We'll end with a parlay of two guys with odds in the -130 range. Dubois has been solid for Winnipeg, hitting his SOG in five straight at home and in all three prior games against Colorado this season.

We've highlighted the Avs as a good shot target for a few weeks now, and the team's 35.6 shots allowed per game on the road mark confirms that stance.

We pair Dubois with Ovechkin, who will see a significant power play edge, a spot where he typically shines.

Toronto is averaging the most penalties per game in the past 10, and Ovechkin is second in the NHL in power play shots in the last 20 games, with 29 total.

Ovechkin has covered this line in 76% of home games this year, so we're feeling good about his chances tonight.

For now, that will do it. Best of luck today in the NHL, let's finish the week strong by cashing some bets!
