NHL Wednesday night bets: Three-leg goal scorer parlay

Tuesday night was a fun one for those here for the NHL on Yardbarker! Our +2250 parlay cashed, so we're running it back with a fresh one for this Wednesday night.

This is once again a three-leg goal-scorer parlay. If you agree with the data, feel free to take them individually or one of their linemates if you don't want to parlay. The logic certainly extends to others on these teams, but let's go for gold with our three favorites of the evening.

These odds are coming in at +2107 on FanDuel, better than DraftKings, where the same parlay is +1545. As always, bet responsibly.

John Tavares

There's a lot to like about John Tavares and the Toronto side tonight. The first factor that got this play on my radar was power-play data. Of all Leafs, Tavares sees the biggest chunk of his shots on the power play, averaging 27.5%, while Anaheim averages the fifth-most penalties per game.

The Ducks are also a great road target for shots and goals. In their past five games, they are allowing an average of four goals scored against them.

Toronto is humming at home in regard to putting the puck in the net, averaging the seventh-most goals per game in the past 10. That number actually goes up when looking at the five most recent (4.6 goals per game).

Now, back to Tavares. In an advantageous intersection for goals, the Maple Leafs are worth a look tonight. Tavares has four goals in his last six home games, and while he didn't get a shot on goal in his last game, he had 17 SOG in his three previous games.

With volume there, good home splits and a great opponent, I like Tavares tonight.

Johnny Gaudreau

You'll want a piece of this Calgary-Columbus game, with both teams letting up a lot of goals in their respective locations.

My attention goes to Gaudreau, who scored last game and has a goal in five of his last seven road games.

Gaudreau has been getting a ton of shots on net lately, averaging 4.6 SOG per game in his last five overall. I like following the volume.

Some numbers to back up why this game is worth a goal-scorer bet:

  • Columbus allows the fourth-most goals per game at home in its last 10 (3.8)
  • Columbus allows the second-most goals per game at home in its last five (4.2)
  • Calgary averaging 3.1 goals scored per game at home in its last 10 (12th most)

I prefer the Flames side simply because Columbus hasn't been doing a ton of scoring at home recently. Matthew Tkachuk is another great option here for Calgary with a goal in seven of his last 10 and two straight on the road.

Tyler Bertuzzi

The final leg comes from Detroit's Tyler Bertuzzi. Chicago catches my eye as a target, allowing the 11th-most goals per game overall and 3.2 per game on the road in the last 10 games.

The Blackhawks are also susceptible to shots when on away ice, so Detroit brings value in this one.

Bertuzzi is rolling at home, with a goal in two straight and seven goals in his past seven.

The Red Wings have been solid scoring at home, averaging 3.0 goals scored in their last five, and this line of Bertuzzi-Pius Suter-Robby Fabbri has been producing plenty of points lately.

Bertuzzi's involvement in the offense is what puts this over the edge for me. He's got four-plus shots on goal in three straight when in Detroit and has three power-play points in his last two.

Closing Thoughts

That will wrap the parlay tonight. Maybe you agree with the matchups here but want to target another skater — that is a fine option!

I like the above based on recent performance in their locations tonight, but overall, these are my three favorite games to find goal-scoring value.

Good luck tonight, and remember to bet responsibly.
