The Jets held a skate today, where Nikolaj Ehlers was spotted on the ice, and reports were that he was moving quite well, which is a very positive sign.

Winnipeg Jets' winger Nikolaj Ehlers appears to be healing after being seen participating on the ice before team practice today at the Hockey for All Centre. This comes after weeks of speculation as to whether or not he would be ready for action.

Ehlers has sat out of games since April 12th, when he re-aggravated an injury he sustained in a play against the Chicago Blackhawks.

A linesman collided with Ehlers, which resulted in his current injury

The damage arrived in odd fashion, as he collided with the skates of a linesman, sending him out of play and out of the game.

Today, and with the main emphasis in Jets practice being placed on Gabriel Vilardi, Ehlers was once more on the ice in subdued surroundings.

Supported by strength and conditioning coach Jake Wolff, the winger was noted as skating and shifting well, and that must have been pleasing to him as much as it would be for the team and their fans.

Not a full-bore participant, the reality of him being out on the ice with some objective is that this is an auspicious sign he's well along in terms of recovery.

Ehlers missed action in St. Louis for Games 3 and 4, which were played last Thursday and Sunday. His absence was expected, and it provided him with some additional time to rehab as well.

Whether or not he's going to be ready for a potential Game 7 is unclear, but his presence on the ice is a positive sign for the Jets as they battle through the playoffs with the Blues.

Scott Arniel says Ehlers is still a ways away from returning to game action, but he is progressing.

It's unlikely he'll be in tomorrow or for Game 6, but never say never.
