The Edmonton Oilers found themselves in the worst case scenario last night as all three of Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, and Stuart Skinner were absent from injury.

Draisaitl was ruled out of the game in warmup , but Connor McDavid and Stuart Skinner were both forced from the game with injuries.

Oilers coach provides lacklustre injury update on McDavid and Skinner

After the game when speaking to media, Coach Knoblauch said that he has nothing to report on McDavid and Skinner's injuries.

The total lack of an answer rubbed some reporters the wrong way, especially considering that they're injuries to two major players.

When pressed about the absence of Stuart Skinner, Knoblauch confirmed that he was pulled from the game by the NHL's concussion spotters.

Skinner took a hard collision from Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi, and was slow to get back to his feet. During the next commercial break, the call came to pull Skinner in the final five minutes of the game - putting some significant stress on Calvin Pickard.

Concussions are extremely tricky injuries, with major variances in recovery time. Skinner may have just been shaken up on the play to get pulled by the spotters, but he may be dealing with a serious issue.

Oilers reporters see no major issue with Connor McDavid after Winnipeg Jets game

However, the good news on Connor McDavid is that Oilers reporters saw no signs of a serious injury in the locker room after the game.

McDavid didn't speak to media, but was still present in the locker room wearing a suit - without anything like an arm sling or leg boot.

It seems that both McDavid and Skinner will miss a game or two at least with their injuries, but hopefully can make a quick return to the ice.
