The Edmonton Oilers will be taking on the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final, and they will be looking to eliminate Dallas again. The two teams met last season in the same spot in the postseason, with the Oilers advancing in six games.
Both sides know each other well and understand that this series is going to be a battle. The Stars hold home-ice advantage and will look to gain an edge to start the series.
Edmonton enters this game with a lot of confidence, but they could be missing a player for Game 1. Forward Connor Brown has been listed as a game-time decision due to an undisclosed injury.
Brown didn't take part in the morning skate ahead of Game 1, putting his availability into question. The forward also missed the last two practices for the Oilers.
Over the 11 playoff games for the Oilers this year, Brown has scored four goals and three assists. If he can't go, Edmonton would then be required to tap into their depth to start this playoff series.
Forward Viktor Arvidsson would replace Brown if he is unable to play in the game. Arvidsson has scored one goal and three assists in nine playoff games played this season.
The Oilers have been almost machine-like in the playoffs since Game 2 of the first round. Edmonton has won eight of its last nine games overall and is entering this series with Dallas feeling very strong.
Game 1 between the two teams is set for 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
