Although Danault didn't suffer a serious injury, the Department of Player Safety ruled in Wednesday's hearing that Nurse's actions were intentional and avoidable.
Nurse's absence from the blue line will make things tough for the Oilers. The veteran defenseman leads the Oilers with an average ice time of 21:45 per game and has contributed two points (one goal, one assist) in the first-round series.
Edmonton is also on the brink of elimination after L.A. rallied for a 5-4 overtime victory on Tuesday and took a 3-2 series lead. Puck drop for Game 6 in L.A. is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET on Thursday.
