The Edmonton Oilers are nearing a full month without having recently-acquired goalie Tristan Jarry available, but that might be close to changing after his extended absence.
Jarry took part in his first full practice session with the team Saturday morning, ending a stretch of limited and individual skating since he suffered his lower-body injury on Dec. 18.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch provided an update on Jarry's outlook ahead of the Oilers' game against the Los Angeles Kings.
“We expect Jarry to play something this upcoming week,” Knoblauch said.

Jarry has been out since pulling himself from a game against the Boston Bruins before the holiday break.
The franchise later placed him on long-term injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 18, which makes Jarry eligible to return as early as Monday.
Before the injury, Jarry had only made three starts for Edmonton, and he remains unbeaten with the Oilers. Edmonton, meanwhile, has posted a 5–5 record during his absence, relying on Connor Ingram and Calvin Pickard to share duties in net.
Ingram has recorded three of those wins while delivering four quality starts in that span. Pickard, meanwhile, has won two games for the Oilers, alternating starts with Ingram in net.
Jarry’s return, however, will force the Oilers into a tough decision regarding their goaltending depth, as it's unlikely they carry a three-goalie rotation forward.
Ingram is waiver-exempt for now as he has yet to appear in nine games, but Pickard could be exposed if a roster move is needed, leaving him on the outside of the team looking in.
Edmonton will enter a two-game road trip on Monday night with a matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
