Olympics: Sidney Crosby Leaves Quarterfinals Game Against Czechia

During the second period of Canada’s quarterfinals game against Czechia, down 2-1 they lost captain Sidney Crosby after he was hobbling towards the bench and would later be seen heading towards the locker room and limping. Crosby was injured on a hit by defenseman Radko Gudas. Canada would go on to tie the game as they got a power-play and Nathan MacKinnon capitalized. The other team, Canada, goal came from Macklin Celebrini, while Czechia’s two goals came from David Pastrnak and Lukas Sedlak. Crosby, entering today, had six points on two goals and four assists; he was a plus-three. In 56 games for the Penguins this season, he has 59 points on 27 goals and 32 assists. He’s a plus-one with ten power-play goals and four game-winning goals. Hockey Canada has announced he will not return and is out with a lower-body injury.

Sidney Crosby

The Pittsburgh Penguins drafted Crosby first overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He has spent all 21 of his NHL career with the Penguins. Crosby has appeared in 1,408 games, recording 1,746 points on 652 goals and 1,094 assists. He’s a career +198 with 194 power-play goals, four shorthanded goals, and 104 game-winning goals. Crosby is a three-time Stanley Cup champion, a two-time Art Ross trophy champion, a two-time Rocket Richard champion, and a two-time Hart Trophy winner. Crosby, in 180 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, has 201 points on 71 goals and 130 assists. He’s a +18 with 20 power-play goals and nine game-winning goals. He won two Conn Smythe trophies.
