Here's a list of notable events on February 14 in Chicago Blackhawks history.

1960: Glenn Hall Shuts Out Montreal

On February 14, 1960, Glenn Hall recorded a 28-save shutout in the Blackhawks' 2-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

This low-scoring game fittingly had a scoreless first period. Ron Murphy broke the ice for the Blackhawks with a goal midway through the second period. Bobby Hull added an insurance tally just over two minutes into the third period.

Hall was the star of the show as he stopped all 28 Canadiens shots to help the Blackhawks secure a victory over their Original Six rival.

2022: A Flower-Worthy Performance on Valentine's Day

On February 14, 2022, Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves to backstop the Blackhawks' 3-1 victory against the Winnipeg Jets.

Patrick Kane opened the scoring midway through the first period. Mark Scheifele got one back for the Jets in the third period, but Alex DeBrincat responded a few minutes later to put Chicago up for good. Brandon Hagel added an empty-net tally to put a bow on the Blackhawks' effort.

Fleury was stellar in net as Scheifele's tally was the netminder's only blemish on the night.

Notable Blackhawks Birthdays

Petr Mrazek , a veteran NHL goalie, was born on February 14, 1992. The Czechoslovakian netminder joined the Blackhawks in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs before the 2022-23 season. As of this writing, Mrazek has a 22-43-5 record, .901 save percentage, and 3.31 goals-against average in 76 games with the Blackhawks. He signed a two-year contract extension with Chicago on Jan. 24, 2024.

John Hayden , a third-round pick of the Blackhawks in the 2013 NHL Draft, was born on February 14, 1995. The rugged forward spent three seasons with the Blackhawks and scored 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 113 regular-season games. Hayden recorded two hits in one playoff game with Chicago.
