2020: Blackhawks' Dynamic Duo Shines in Shootout

On February 29, 2020, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane scored shootout goals to help the Blackhawks defeat the Florida Panthers 3-2.

Mike Hoffman opened the scoring for the Panthers before Jonathan Toews responded in the first period. Drake Caggiula's second-period goal gave Chicago a 2-1 lead, but Mike Matheson found the equalizer for Florida with 1:28 to go in the third period.

A scoreless overtime led to a shootout, where it was the Toews and Kane show. Both Blackhawks' stars scored as Corey Crawford stopped both Panthers' attempts to seal Chicago's victory.

Notable Blackhawks Birthdays

Cam Ward , a 13-year NHL goalie, was born on February 29, 1984. The Saskatchewan spent 12 seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes before finishing his career with the Blackhawks in 2018-19. Ward posted a 16-12-4 record, .897 save percentage, and 3.67 goals-against average in 33 games with Chicago.
