2020: Dylan Strome Leads Blackhawks Past Ducks

On March 3, 2020, Dylan Strome logged two goals and one assist to help the Blackhawks defeat the Anaheim Ducks 6-2.

Drake Caggiula opened the scoring in the first period before Strome notched his first goal early in the middle frame. Danton Heinen got one back for Anaheim, but Strome restored Chicago's two-goal lead. Alexander Nylander and Patrick Kane added second-period goals with Strome assisting on Kane's marker.

In the third period, Carter Rowney scored for the Ducks but it was too little, too late as David Kampf lit the lamp to ice the game for the Blackhawks.

2022: Alex DeBrincat Calls Game vs. Oilers

On March 3, 2022, Alex DeBrincat scored an overtime power-play goal to give the Blackhawks a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

The teams went back and forth in the first period as Sam Lafferty and Patrick Kane scored for the Blackhawks while Leon Draisaitl and Evander Kane lit the lamp for the Oilers. Dominik Kubalik put the Blackhawks up 3-2 in the second period, but Evander Kane found the equalizer.

A scoreless third period led to overtime, and Draisaitl's tripping penalty allowed DeBrincat to win the game on Chicago's man advantage.

Notable Blackhawks Birthdays

Al Secord, a 12-year NHL forward, was born on March 3, 1958. In parts of eight seasons with the Blackhawks, Secord scored 373 points (213 goals, 160 assists) and logged 1,426 penalty minutes in 466 regular-season games. The Ontario native added 47 points (20 goals, 27 assists) and 266 penalty minutes in 68 playoff games with Chicago.
