The Rangers could be looking for an overhaul this summer, and now a reporter has revealed which three players are deemed untouchable in New York.
The 2024/25 campaign was a disaster for the New York Rangers, and while many had them pegged as a Stanley Cup favourite heading into the year, they would ultimately disappoint and fail to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs altogether.
Unsurprisingly, that's left Rangers fans furious, and with the perceived talent on this roster to be a genuine threat, there is the expectation that they'll look to make some huge moves this summer and potentially compete again in 2025/26.
That speculation has continued in recent times, and now reporter Arthur Staple has added to that, revealing that he believes there are only three players deemed as 'untouchable' in trade talks on this current roster.
Shesterkin, Fox and Panarin may be only New York Ranger untouchables in trade talk
According to Staple, those three players are Adam Fox, Igor Shesterkin and veteran Artemi Panarin, who some had speculated could potentially be available at some point this summer.
While it's easy to see why the rangers want to keep these three, it is interesting that both J.T. Miller and Vincent Trocheck are not on this list, as many see them as key to any potential success this team could have moving forward.
Even after this report, it doesn't mean that Miller, Trocheck, Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad and Alexis Lafreniere are all going to be traded, but if the team get good offers on any of them, it's safe to say that they're open to a big shakeup as they look to get back into contention next season.
