With the Ontario Reign season over, we will begin our player reviews for the 2025-26 season. Up first: Glenn Gawdin!
*Note: These player previews will be for players who played at least five games with the Reign and finished the season with the team*
Games: 71
Goals: 16
Assists: 35
Points: 51
+/- rating: +3
Penalty minutes: 73
Gawdin, 29, wrapped up the second year of his two-year NHL contract he signed with the LA Kings in the summer of 2024. Needing to clear waivers, Gawdin did so and returned to the Reign, where he would assume the number-one center duties. Being one of the leaders on a Reign team that was made up of plenty of first and second-year players, Gawdin wore an “A” on his jersey.
His offensive production was down a bit compared to the 2024-25 season, but he was still a reliable 1C for Andrew Lord’s squad. Offensive zone starts, defensive zone starts, first unit on the power play, penalty kill, or protecting a lead late in the game, Gawdin did it all.
Even with a lesser production offensively, Gawdin’s highlight of the season came in Ontario’s final road game of the season against the Coachella Valley Firebirds when he scored the game-winning goal in overtime to secure the Pacific Division title for the Reign.
