Ontario to allow 550 vaccinated healthcare workers to attend Game 7 between Maple Leafs, Canadiens

Ontario premier Doug Ford announced Monday that 550 fully vaccinated healthcare workers will be allowed to attend Game 7 between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens at Scotiabank Arena.

The decision comes after Ontario initially rejected a proposal to allow fully vaccinated healthcare workers to attend the game.

Brampton, Ontario Mayor Patrick Brown asked people to sign an online petition to get the government to change its mind. It's unclear how many signatures the petition got.

The Maple Leafs have not been allowed to host fans all season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Canadiens hosted about 2,500 masked fans at the Bell Centre in Montreal for Game 6 on Saturday.
