It is the third time Barkov has won the Selke Trophy, having previously won it in 2020-21 and 2023-24. Barkov becomes the first player in NHL history to win both the Selke Trophy and King Clancy Trophy in the same season. Barkov joins Jere Lehtinen, Pavel Datsyuk, Ron Gainey, Guy Carbonneau and Patrice Bergeron as the sixth player in NHL history to win the award at least three times.
In 2024-25, Barkov finished with 20 goals and 51 assists for 71 points in 67 games with the Panthers. It was the sixth 70-point campaign in his 12-year NHL career. In 17 playoff games this spring, Barkov has six goals and 11 assists for 17 points.

Taken No. 2 overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Barkov has evolved into one of the league’s best two-way forwards. In 804 career regular-season games, Barkov has 286 goals and 496 assists for 782 points. In 88 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, Barkov has 25 goals and 51 assists for 76 points.
