Florida Panthers star netminder Sergei Bobrovsky is one of the best goalies of his generation.
He added to his impressive resume Wednesday night when he made his 750th appearance in front of the net in the NHL, as the Panthers faced the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
The 36-year-old Russian goaltender is now 24th all-time in goalie appearances in the league.
Among active goalies, only Marc-Andre Fleury of the Minnesota Wild and Jonathan Quick of the New York Rangers have played in more NHL contests than Bobrovsky. Fleury and Quick have 1,048 and 802 games to their names, respectively.
Even though the Panthers ended up absorbing a 3-2 loss to Toronto, they made sure to give Bobrovsky a shoutout for his latest milestone.
“Cheers to 750, Bobby!” the Panthers said in a post on Instagram after the contest.
Bobrovsky, a two-time Vezina Trophy winner, made 23 saves on 26 shots he faced versus the Maple Leafs, who clinched a berth in the 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs with the win over Florida.
Through 50 games played in the 2024-25 NHL regular season, Bobrovsky has put together a 31-17-2 record with a 2.45 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.
The Panthers got on the board first in the Toronto game with a Gustav Forsling goal in the opening period but the Maple Leafs responded to that with three consecutive goals before Florida’s Sam Reinhart scored the final goal of the night with under three minutes left in regulation.
Looking ahead, the defending Stanley Cup champions will play their third game of a four-leg road trip this coming Saturday versus the Ottawa Senators.
