Former NHL player and current analyst Paul Bissonnette threw a major jab at the Carolina Hurricanes after they were humiliated by the Panthers in Game 3.
The Carolina Hurricanes have now lost 15 straight games in the Eastern Conference Final dating back to 2009 after last night's humiliating 6-2 loss to the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena.
While the Hurricanes have proven themselves to be a very good regular season team over the last several years capable of winning more than one round in the postseason, all indications point toward them once again not being able to get over the hump to return to the Stanley Cup Final.
Earlier this year, the Hurricanes briefly had NHL superstar forward Mikko Rantanen on their club after they acquired him in a shocking blockbuster trade with the Colorado Avalanche that nobody saw coming.
But Rantanen did not gel with coach Rod Brind'Amour's defensive-oriented playing system and would not commit to signing a long-term contract extension; he was traded to the Dallas Stars after a few weeks, where he signed a massive contract and has since thrived.
Following Carolina's Game 3 loss to the Panthers, former NHL player and current analyst Paul Bissonnette threw shade at the Hurricanes while referencing the Rantanen gamble that the franchise lost.
No wonder Rantanen wanted out.
Rantanen, meanwhile, has made NHL history during the postseason by becoming the 1st player to score consecutive natural hat tricks; he and the Stars are in a battle against the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Final.
Was Rantanen right for not wanting to re-sign with the Hurricanes? Bissonnette seems to think so.
