Panthers coach Paul Maurice singled out the combined 3-goal performance of Brad Marchand and Sam Bennett in Florida's 5-2 win in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The Florida Panthers are on the doorstep of glory once again, just a single win from what would be their 2nd consecutive Stanley Cup victory.

Their 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 5 of the SCF on Saturday was an effective response to their disappointing setback in Game 4, during which they blew a 3-0 1st period lead.

Leading the way were Brad Marchand and Sam Bennett, who combined for 3 goals during the win. Bennett increased his NHL-leading postseason goal total to 15, while Marchand reached double-digits in postseason goals with 10.

Panthers coach Paul Maurice recognizes the incredible contributions that Florida is getting from both players.

They don't get too high; they don't get too low. Their energy level's high; they're very focused on the game. There's a mental toughness there, a mental capacity to stay within the game and not try to break it open. Just wait, be patient.

It doesn't mean sit back - I mean they're aggressive men - but the patience part of it is their experience.

Marchand already has a wealth of postseason experience and is now playing in his 4th SCF; he's hoping to win his 1st Stanley Cup since he was a rookie with the Boston Bruins in 2011.

For Bennett, it's his 3rd trip to the SCF, and he hopes to win his 2nd Stanley Cup.

Both players helped to silence the sell-out crowd at Rogers Place with their goals, something Maurice also credited them for.

When you're on the road and you can keep the building from lighting up in the first 10 minutes, that's just a big part of the emotions of what goes on.

The Panthers built leads of 2-0, 3-0, 4-1 and 5-2 before the final horn blew.
