The Vegas Golden Knights might not have had the start to the season they desired with a 1-0-2 record, but forward Pavel Dorofeyev looks to be making the 2025-26 season his breakout campaign.

On Monday, the NHL announced that Dorofeyev was named First Star of the Week, beating out Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto and Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky for the honor.

Dorofeyev has started the season hot, notching goals in each of the Golden Knights’ first three games. He currently leads the NHL with five goals and four power play goals as of Oct. 13.

The season opener for the Golden Knights could not have gone any better for the 24-year-old, who completed a hat trick in the second period against the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 8. The Kings would ultimately take the game 6-5, needing a shootout to win.

Dorofeyev would add power play tallies against the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 9 and the Seattle Kraken on Oct. 11.

The Russian winger is proving that last season was what should be expected going forward. Last year, Dorofeyev played all 82 games for the Golden Knights, notching career highs in goals (35), assists (17) and points (52) that season.

The Golden Knights take on the Calgary Flames on Tuesday to close out a three-game road trip, so Dorofeyev will hope to make it four straight games with the puck finding the back of the net.
