CRANBERRY — Third-line left winger Radim Zohorna, who was placed on waivers Tuesday, did not participate in the Pittsburgh Penguins’ workout at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.
The Penguins will learn at 2 p.m. if Zohorna has been claimed by another team.
If not, they will be able to assign him to their farm team in Wilkes-Barre, although they are not obliged to do so.
Defenseman Chad Ruhwedel, who was injured late in the Penguins’ 3-0 victory against Seattle Monday, took part in the practice.
With Zohorna not involved, here’s what the Penguins’ forward lines and defense pairings looked like:
Guentzel-Crosby-Rakell
O’Connor-Malkin-Rust
White-Eller-Puustinen
Harkins-Acciari-Carter
Pettersson-Letang
Graves-Karlsson
Joseph-Ruhwedel
Coach Mike Sullivan did not attend the practice because he was with his daughter, who gave birth yesterday.
He is scheduled to travel to Las Vegas, where the Penguins will play the Golden Knights Saturday, albeit not on the team flight.
Because president of hockey operations/GM Kyle Dubas has a policy that he and Sullivan are the only members of management cleared to speak with reporters, none of the assistant coaches were expected to be made available to the media.
Defenseman John Ludvig, who is on the Long-Term Injured list, had a 45-minute on-ice workout before the full-team session.
Ludvig has an unspecified upper-body injury and has missed the past seven games.
