The Los Angeles Kings have reportedly started shopping center Phillip Danault, with the center option in the trade market kinda slim. The Kings are looking to add bottom-six scoring as they move Danault. Danault could certainly use a change of scenery as he has yet to score a goal and has only five assists in 29 games this season; he is a plus-three. The Montreal Canadiens are reportedly interested in bringing back Danault, who spent 5.5 seasons with them from 2015-2021. The Canadiens do have options in the bottom six they could send to the Kings if they wanted, names such as Patrik Laine or Alex Newhook. Both are out currently with injuries, but Laine is a name that could certainly use a change of scenery. Danault is a name to watch over the coming weeks, and Montreal could be the right trade partner for the Kings.
