Predators sign Jack Drury to five-year contract

On top of that, Drury has a full no-trade clause for the second and third years of the contract, with a modified no-trade clause for the final two seasons, where the player has to submit an eight-team no-trade list. It’s quite the pay bump for the 26-year-old, who recently came off his two-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, signed in July 2024, with an AAV of $1.725 million.

Drury made his way to Nashville just last week, when his signing rights were traded by the Colorado Avalanche to the Preds, along with Chase Bradley and a third-round pick in the 2029 NHL Draft. The Avs received forwards Fedor Svechkov and Zachary L’Heureux as part of the deal.

It’s the second time in less than two years that Drury has been on the move. He was one of the key returning pieces for the Avs in the Mikko Rantanen trade in January 2025. His first full season in Denver saw one of the most productive campaigns of his young career. In 82 games, the New York City kid scored a career-high 10 goals, totaling 17 assists and 27 points, matching his career-best performance from the 2023-24 campaign. His depth role helped the Avs win the Presidents’ Trophy, with Drury going on to score three goals and five points in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games. Yet, the Avs were swept by the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference Final.

In 268 regular-season games in the NHL, Drury has scored 30 goals and 52 assists for 82 points, with another 15 points in 44 postseason contests.
