The Nashville Predators announced Saturday they signed forward Mavrik Bourque to a six-year, $33-million contract that carries an annual average value of $5.5 million.

The first to report the signing was Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

The news comes just days after the Predators acquired Bourque, as well as defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and a 2028 third-round pick.

Bourque, 24, was a restricted free agent coming off a one-year, $950,000 deal.

He finished the 2025-26 season with 20 goals and 21 assists for 41 points in 82 games. In two full NHL campaigns, the Plessisville, Que., native has 31 goals and 35 assists for 66 points in 156 career regular-season games. He also has one goal in 10 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Taken in the first round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Bourque spent parts of three seasons in the American Hockey League, where he scored 47 goals and 82 assists for 129 points in 147 regular-season games. He also had four goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 15 Calder Cup Playoff games.

Bourque spent parts of four seasons in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League between 2018-19 and 2021-22, where he scored 93 goals and 143 assists for 236 points in 172 regular-season games. He also had 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points in 27 QMJHL playoff games.

The Predators went 38-34-10 with 86 points in 2025-26, sixth in the Central Division and four points back of a Wildcard spot in the Western Conference.

Filip Forsberg led the team in goals and points with 40 and 75, respectively. Ryan O’Reilly had a team-leading 49 assists.
