Predators vs. Ducks Pregame Report: The Plan Without Novak
USA TODAY Sports

The Nashville Predators need a win.

The Preds are on a three game losing streak, and despite scoring five goals Saturday night against Arizona, the team couldn't get the win or the two points they desperately need to dig their way out of a 5-9 start.

Today the team announced forward Tommy Novak would be out four to six weeks with an upper body injury. Novak's line with Luke Evangelista and Kiefer Sherwood has been one of Nashville's most consistent and offensively productive lines as far as generating chances and maintaining offensive zone time.

Andrew Brunette addressed the news after morning skate saying Cody Glass, who skated yesterday at practice with Evangelista and Sherwood, would take Novak's place in the line up tonight.

The Predators have a decided advantage historically when it comes to playing the Ducks at home, but with an Anaheim team that has gone 7-2 in their last nine games, tonight will be a tough test for a Predators team that hasn't put together a solid sixty minute game in several outings.

Tonight's game will be broadcast on HULU and ESPN+. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm CT.
