If I mention the name Cameron Reid, it probably doesn’t mean much to you, unless you’re thinking of Chase Reid, the seventh overall pick in the last draft.
Even though they share the same last name, they're not related, but Cameron is also a first-round pick (21st overall in 2025).
To give you a quick summary, he's a versatile defenseman who won the Memorial Cup with the Kitchener Rangers and played for Team Canada Junior last year.
In short, Cameron Reid played hockey this summer with pros, including Nick Suzuki, and let's just say he had a lot to say about the Habs' captain.
Reid mentioned that he learned a lot from watching Suzuki play this summer.
Marco D'Amico also wrote an article on the Ratings website about Reid and reported on what the young defenseman had to say.
Caught up with Predators top prospect Cam Reid,
talked about his game, Michigan's title chase, playing summer hockey with Nick Suzuki and Corey Perry, and a cool story involving Roman Josi.
Also some good stuff on Michael Hage and Landon DuPont.

“His hockey sense and IQ are things I've never seen before. You have to keep him in front of you, because he's going to take advantage of everything you give him.” – Cameron Reid
As D'Amico mentioned in his post, trying to defend Suzuki is a learning experience in itself.
In Montreal, we know just how great a hockey player Suzuki is, but when you watch him closely, you realize he does a LOT on the ice—and that's what Reid discovered this summer while skating alongside him.
Interestingly, Reid will play for the University of Michigan Wolverines and will have the chance to play alongside Michael Hage and many other excellent players, including Landon DuPont.
The Wolverines will have a very formidable team this season, especially with Hage returning to Michigan for another season.
In fact, Reid had a few words to say about his upcoming season with the Wolverines. D'Amico reports that Reid is impressed by Michael Hage's decision to return to the NCAA.
“It shows the character he has and the kind of person he is. It's a great opportunity to see Hage return to Michigan.” – Cameron Reid
Clearly, the Wolverines will be one of the powerhouses in the NCAA, and it will be interesting to see how the team performs with all the new additions, including Reid and DuPont.
– Sanchez seems to have been very well received by CF Montréal fans.
