Providence Bruins Sign Two Forwards & Two Defensemen 

The Providence Bruins continue to build their 2026-27 roster. They have signed two forwards, adding Nolan Renwick and Wyatt Bongiovanni. They are also signing back defenseman Max Wanner and Chris Ortiz on one-year AHL deals.

Nolan Renwick

Renwick played in 43 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season. He had five points on two goals and three assists. He was a minus-one. Renwick also appeared in 11 ECHL games with the Wheeling Nailers. Renwick had eight points on four goals and four assists. He was a minus-seven with a power-play goal and a game-winning goal. In 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games, he had six points on four goals and two assists. He was a minus-one with a game-winning goal. In 47 career AHL games, he has seven points on four goals and three assists. He’s even in plus/minus with a game-winning goal. 

Wyatt Bongiovanni

Bongiovanni played in 65 games last season between Hershey and Belleville. He had 30 points on 15 goals and 15 assists. He was a -17 with four power-play goals and a game-winning goal. In three playoff games with Hershey, he was pointless and a minus-one. In 226 career AHL games, he has 106 points on 66 goals and 40 assists. He’s a -34 with 23 power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and ten game-winning goals. In 15 Calder Cup Playoff games in his career, he has seven points on three goals and four assists. He’s a plus-one with a power-play goal and game-winning goal. 

Max Wanner 

In 29 games with Providence last season, Wanner had a goal and two assists. He was a plus-eight, and the lone goal was a game-winner on April 3rd against Syracuse. Wanner was pointless in four playoff games and was a minus-two. He appeared in three games for Maine in the ECHL, scoring a goal. In 134 AHL games, he has 25 points on nine goals and 16 assists. He’s +26 with a shorthanded goal and a game-winning goal. In six career playoff games, he’s pointless with a minus-three. 

Chris Ortiz 

Ortiz, a former Bruin, spent last season with Hartford in the AHL. In 24 games, he had an assist and was even in plus/minus. In 20 ECHL games with Bloomington, he has 12 points on two goals and ten assists. He was even in plus/minus. In 71 games, he has 13 points on a goal and 12 assists. He’s a plus-two. Ortiz, in 2024-25, appeared in 23 games with Providence, where he had seven assists and was a plus-eight. He appeared in eight playoff games for them that season, which was his only playoff appearance. He had an assist and was a minus-two. In 232 career ECHL games, he has 158 points on 27 goals and 131 assists. He’s a +21 with three power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and four game-winning goals. In 17 Kelly Cup Playoff games, he’s got 11 assists and is a minus-three.
