Alexis Lafrenière, with a flash of the stick and a flick of the wrist evened the New York Rangers preseason record at 2-2. The happy go lucky young star also sent his team into a long bonding trip to Rhode Island smiling from ear-to-ear.

New York Rangers head for team bonding trip

The Rangers next game is Wednesday, October 6th against the Devils at MSG. Starting today, they are headed to Rhode Island for some golf, archery, and shenanigans in a planned bonding trip.

“[The trip] is huge, especially for the coaching staff,” Gallant said. “We get to meet a lot of the players you start to get to know them. Also there’s a lot of new players here joining out group, so I think it’s great.”

Ryan Strome, who scored the first goal to get the Rangers going joked that he was unable to share what the team had planned. He did however give a little insight into the upcoming festivities.

“We’re going to go golfing, we’re going to do somethings with guys like archery and stuff like like that,” Strome said. “This is just a great way to have everyone together without the distractions… just get together with the guys and learn about the guys.”

Strome explained that the difficulties of playing through the pandemic limited them from doing things like team dinners. This is just a chance to get accustomed to our teammates, learn some new guys, and come together as a team,” he concluded.
