Red Wings top Blues with 3 goals in third
Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

Lucas Raymond and Michael Rasmussen each had a goal and an assist as the visiting Detroit Red Wings rallied past the St. Louis Blues 6-4 on Tuesday.

Jake Walman, Jonatan Berggren, Moritz Seider and Robby Fabbri also scored and Joe Veleno had two assists for the Red Wings, who erased a 4-3 third-period deficit to snap their three-game winless streak.

Ville Husso made 33 saves to earn the victory.

Kevin Hayes scored twice for the Blues, who have lost four straight games. Brandon Saad and Marco Scandella also for St. Louis and Jordan Binnington made 26 saves.

The Blues struck first when Saad scored from the right faceoff dot 5:56 into the game.

Walman tied the game 1-1 by converting a long rebound from the left circle with 6:27 left in the first period.

Less than two minutes later the Red Wings moved ahead 2-1. After Jeff Petry rang a shot off the post, Berggren scored off the weak-side rebound.

Hayes scored twice in a span of 31 seconds to put the Blues up 3-2 in the second period. On the first, he deflected Nick Leddy's shot from the left point past Husso.

Then Hayes intercepted Seider's clearing attempt and scored unassisted from the high slot.

The Red Wings tied the game 3-3 off the rush. Rasmussen threw a sharp-angle shot on goal off the left wing and Seider converted the rebound. But Scandella put the Blues on top 4-3 with a short-handed breakaway with 3:07 left in the second period. It was Scandella's first goal of the season.

Detroit tied the game on a power 48 seconds into the third period, with Raymond scoring from the near slot.

Then Fabbri put them up 5-4 by coming off the bench and driving to the front of the net to redirect Raymond's centering pass with 13:22 to play.

Rasmussen's short-handed empty-net goal iced the game with 1:39 left on the clock.
