Report: Maple Leafs 'Could Be' Changing Up Green St. Pats Jerseys Ahead of St. Patrick's Day in March

The Toronto Maple Leafs might look different when St. Patrick's Day rolls around this year.

Every season, when the holiday comes, the Maple Leafs wear their Toronto St. Pats-themed jerseys for a game or two. However, this year, the jerseys could be changing, according to Icethetics, a company which covers logo and uniform design in the NHL.

"I have a source reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs could be changing up their St. Pats throwback for this season. I'm told it's still white with the green chest stripe, but instead of the pill-shaped container for the retro wordmark, it'll be a shamrock shape instead.

"Sadly, no photos to share just yet, so you'll have to let your imagination run with this one for now. If true, this would be the final new sweater from Adidas before they ride off into the sunset. If it's not true, then we have already seen the last Adizero jersey launch."

The Maple Leafs unveiled the St. Pats uniforms in mid-February of 2017, paying tribute to one of the earliest teams in the club's era. Toronto has worn this uniform at least once every season since they released it.

The organization also honored the Toronto St. Pats in March 2002, wearing the throwback uniform against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Maple Leafs have three games around St. Patrick's Day, from March 14-19 — two against the Philadelphia Flyers (Mar. 14 and 19) and one against the Carolina Hurricanes (Mar. 16) — and we could see them wear a possible new St. Pats uniform then.

Toronto will play against Philadelphia in both of their games against them while hosting the Hurricanes the night before St. Patrick's Day. I'd expect them to wear the jerseys at least once, likely against Carolina.
