Rangers send Karl Henriksson and Matt Rempe back to their respective teams

The Rangers signed 2019 second round pick Karl Henriksson to his ELC starting this season. The 20 year-old pivot has played 44 games for Frolunda and has 7 points. He is also one of just 13 U20 players in the entire league. A boy amongst men if you will.

After signing his deal he told Swedish media that it was “super cool” and “a dream come true.” Then he revealed that it was already decided that he will play next season in the SHL again with Frolunda. “Yes exactly,” he responded about playing in Sweden next season. “And I think that feels good.”

So his cut comes as no surprise.

As for Matt Rempe, he played big when given the opportunity and even threw some fists when called upon. Selected in the 6th round (165th overall), Rempe was drafted for his size (6-8′, 240 lbs) and compete level. A solid young player in all three zones, he has bottom six potential.
