The two biggest questions facing the Minnesota Wild ahead of training camp is if Kirill Kaprizov and Marco Rossi will have new contracts.
While all is quiet on the Kaprizov front, there is fresh information about Rossi. It comes from longtime Wild insider Michael Russo, who announced Thursday on X that he's heard of "significant progress" in negotiations between the Wild and Rossi, suggesting that something could happen "in the coming days."
Hearing there has been significant progress toward a potential Marco Rossi signing by the #mnwild in the coming days. As we've been reporting, a bridge deal makes the most sense.

It's the first substantive news since late July, when Russo and colleague Joe Smith reported that the Wild and Rossi's camp hadn't engaged in contract talks since early June.
Rossi, 23, has reportedly turned down a five-year, $25 million offer, and Smith said it could be a "waiting game until the next pressure point in negotiations" arrives at the start of training camp.
The clock is ticking with less than a month before the Wild report to training camp on Sept. 18, followed by six preseason games between Sept. 21 and Oct. 3. The regular season begins Oct. 9 when the Wild visit the St. Louis Blues.
Rossi, who had 24 goals and 36 assists last season, could still receive an offer sheet from other NHL teams, but Minnesota has the right to match any offer he gets. Though, to be this far removed from the 2024-25 season and close to the 2025-26 season without an offer is rather telling, and it's a potential sign that the Wild has leverage to negotiate a team-friendly deal.
