Report: Tyler Bozak, Blues have 'strong mutual interest' on new deal

Tyler Bozak has spent the last three seasons of his career with the St. Louis Blues. He doesn't want that to change entering the 2021-22 campaign.

Bozak's three-year, $15 million deal with the Blues expired after the 2020-21 season. According to Andy Strickland of Bally Sports Midwest, there's mutual interest between the Blues and Bozak on a new deal.

The 35-year-old has tallied 84 points (31 goals, 53 assists) in 170 games. His best season in St. Louis came during the 2018-19 campaign when the Blues won the Stanley Cup. Bozak tallied five goals and eight assists in 26 playoff games that season.

Before joining the Blues, Bozak played nine seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, tallying 365 points (136 goals, 229 assists) in 594 games.

The Blues have about $17.3 million in cap space this offseason but could create $7.5 million in additional space by dealing Vladimir Tarasenko, who reportedly requested a trade. In addition to Bozak, unrestricted free agents Mike Hoffman and Jaden Schwartz need to be re-signed, as does restricted free agent Vince Dunn.
