The Edmonton Oilers are trying to add some depth to their defense corps, and it seems like they've found a perfect fit.
Edmonton is reportedly finalizing a one-year deal worth nearly $4 million for Tyson Barrie, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.
Barrie was traded by the Colorado Avalanche to the Toronto Maple Leafs last offseason. He struggled under former head coach Mike Babcock, but was more productive when the club replaced Babcock with Sheldon Keefe.
He ended up tallying 39 points in 70 games. Compared to some of his previous seasons, it was a down year for Barrie. However, he reportedly turned down an offer of at least $6 million per season, so multiple teams likely were interested in him.

Barrie isn't the only signing the Oilers have reportedly made this offseason. The club re-signed Tyler Ennis and brought in Kyle Turris on Friday.
