After not being qualified by the Columbus Blue Jackets, Jordan Harris is joining the Boston Bruins. The 24-year old returns to the city where he played college hockey.

Harris Joins Bruins

In 33 games with the Blue Jackets last season, Harris scored one goal and added four assists. In 164 career games, Harris has scored nine goals and recorded 28 assists for a total of 37 points.

Busy Day for Boston

Last season was a disappointing one for the Bruins, missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Furthermore, core players like Brandon Carlo and Brad Marchand were traded.

The Bruins are looking to bounce back in 2025-26. The team has already signed Sean Kuraly to bring the forward back to Boston.

Role in Boston

Harris’s role with the Bruins is unclear at the moment. However, he is a young defenceman who still has promise in the NHL. The Bruins may want to get a look at what he can offer to see where he fits into the team’s future plans.

Harris has had had roles in his career that have included high amounts of playing time. In 2022-23, Harris played in 65 games and followed that up with 56 games the next season.

If Harris gets an opportunity for a large role with the Bruins, this could be a great opportunity for him to establish a name for himself in the NHL. If he can take advantage of the opportunity, it could mean big things for the future of the young defenceman.
