The Carolina Hurricanes went down 0-2 at home in the Eastern Conference Finals, and after a dreadful performance, the team have been blasted by Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour.
Despite starting this series with home ice advantage, that has been completely taken away from the Carolina Hurricanes after the Florida Panthers decimated them 5-0 in Game 2, taking a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.
That marked 14 straight defeats in the ECF for Carolina, who are yet to win a game on this stage since winning the Stanley Cup back in 2006, and with the series now shifting to Florida, there are fears that this series could be over rather quickly.
Unsurprisingly, Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour was furious with his team for the way things played out, calling out his teams level of play from the beginning of the game as they were thoroughly outplayed by the defending Stanley Cup Champions.
'I didn't know what I was watching in the first period.'
Things only got worse from there, as the team were booed off the ice by their home fans at the end of the second period with the team facing a 4-0 deficit that they wouldn't come back from.
Not only were Carolina booed off the ice for the 0 in the goal column, but they had less than 10 shots after two periods, and while they were able to slow down Washington enough to grind out a series win, the same can't be said here, with all the warning signs of a sweep in this one.
Right now, all signs are pointing to a quick series here with Carolina and Florida, but if they can somehow steal Game 3 on the road and find their momentum, this series may not be over just yet.
