O'Reilly exits with upper-body injury vs. Canucks
Ryan O'Reilly Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

Toronto Maple Leafs center Ryan O’Reilly exited Saturday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks with a second period upper-body injury.

O’Reilly was hurt in the final minute of the second period, when he blocked a shot in the midst of a two-minute shift. There was no word on the severity of the injury, though more information figures to be forthcoming in the days ahead.

Prior to his injury exit, O'Reilly had 11:10 of ice time with a shot, a takeaway, and few faceoff wins. The Leafs were down 1-0 when he exited and ultimately fell in defeat by a 4-1 score.

O’Reilly’s had a bit of a down 2022-23 season even when healthy, posting a modest 15 goals, nine assists and 24 total points across 47 games.
